Carlmont's Junior States of America Club (JSA) attended the Northern California Spring State Convention, where club secretary Mira Wakefield was elected senator for the Golden Gate Region. The Spring State Convention was organized into time blocks, where participants could attend various debates and discussions on current events. "There were some really great debates.
Carlmont's Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) made their annual visit to the Castro, where they learned more about the history of the gay rights movement and explored the culture of San Francisco's LGBTQ district. "It was really fun. We went to the GLBT museum, where we learned about some LGBTQ history.
In my junior year, I primarily focused on editing other articles posted on Scot Scoop, as well as organizing multimedia packages on the site. But, I also wrote a couple of articles throughout the year, on a wide variety of subjects.
In my senior year, I branched out into more opinion-based writing, particularly on culture. As I honed in on my writing interests, I discovered a love for exploring different cultures, from their media to their cuisine. I was also able to dive deeper into Western culture, in scripting the five-part podcast series on classic short horror stories.
